Another week closer to Chemistry, another new song from Queen Kelly.
âRed Flag Collectorâ was released on Friday, June 9, and IMO itâs the best song weâve heard so far from Chemistry.
Itâs no secret that I LOVE summer anthem âFavorite Kind of High,â but thereâs something very special about âRed Flag Collector.â
I shared my raw, first impressions on TikTok, but hereâs a quick list of what makes âRed Flag Collectorâ one of Kelly Clarksonâs best songs yet:
The chorus. A combo of a memorable melody and angry vibe, the chorus is catchy AF. Very sing-able.
Specific and sassy lyrics. The line âyou can have the towelsâ is petty and fun. Anyone who has experienced a bad breakup will be able to relate.
The musicianship. The way they incorporated different instruments and sound effects to add layers to the song is impressive. I discover something new every time I listen to the song. Kelly, Jason and Jaco are the only writers on this song.
The bridge. Did yâall know the male members of My Band Yâall can sing?!? đ€Ż Their harmonies in the bridge is so sweet. Itâs as if they are banding together (pun not intended) to protect Kelly. đ„ș They sound fantastic!
The anger. Itâs no secret that Angry Kelly is my favorite genre of music. And as far as bringing the spice (and the tea), âRed Flag Collectorâ does not disappoint.
