đŽ 9 surprising things we learned from Kelly Clarkson's "I Hate Love" social media livestreams
Our queen spills some tea on Sia, Pink, Steve Martin, Vegas shows, and more.
Hey fellow Clarkstan! đ Welcome to NOTHING BUT CLARKSON â a newsletter all about Emmy and Grammy winner (and rad human) Kelly Clarkson. Thereâs lots of tea this week coming from Kelly herself. Check it out!

Some random thoughts from me.
To celebrate the release of âI hate love,â her collaboration with actor and musician Steve Martin, Kelly Clarkson hopped on a series of social media livestreams on Friday, June 2.
As always, the lives were chaotic in the best way possible⌠and also surprisingly informative. Besides the funny filters and funny comments, Kelly brought hot pipping tea to these lives on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Here are some of the things that stood out to me:
Thereâs an unfinished Sia collaboration. đą âWe also did something for Chemistry,â Kelly said during one of the livestreams. âWe just didnât finish it. It wasnât quite what it shouldâve been.â
She will be doing covers during her mini Las Vegas residency. Unlike the Meaning of Life tour, however, we wonât be getting a livestream every night. Kelly wants the 10 Vegas shows to be special and intimate.
âChemistryâ is Kellyâs favorite from Chemistry. At least for now. She used the wordsâetherealâ and âbrokenâ to describe the song.
Kelly is a âNetflix and chillâ kind of galâŚ. But in the literal sense. Our queen discovered only recently what this phrase meant. đ¤Ł
Pink recently invited Kelly to sing together live (presumably for a tour or a show), but it didnât work out because of Kellyâs schedule. đ˘
Kelly hinted that she may have done something with country superstar Garth Brooks.
Kelly is open to some interesting music projects in the future, including:
A duets album covering her favorite genres
A re-recording of some of her songs as house and dance tracks
An RnB album
A live album, specifically for the Birthday at the Belasco concert
A Chemistry deluxe edition might be in the works. This isnât surprising given that we already got a couple of remixesâŚ
Kelly hinted that âLighthouseâ might be released before the album release date. The most likely date for this is June 16 since âRed Flag Collectorâ is slated for next week, June 9.
Speaking of âRed Flag Collector,â check out the STUNNING single artwork below. Artwork for her singles this album cycle has been stellarâand this one is my absolute fave so far.
WHATâS NEW, CLARKSON?
Notable mentions and news about our queen.
Billboard has an exclusive on how Kelly Clarkson was able to secure Steve Martin for âI Hate Love.â âI generally donât ask [other artists to collaborate] because I get very nervous about bothering people,â Kelly tells Billboard, âbut literally, within hours, I got an answer: âOh my God, heâd love to, when are you recording it?ââ
Other major media outlets like TODAY, Vulture, and Rolling Stone also wrote about âI Hate Love.â
Kellyâs interview on Caroline Kraddickâs Keep Looking Up podcast is out.
We got a tease of Kellyâs interview on the Conan OâBrien Needs a Friend podcast. The full interview will be out soon, but from the live video on Team Coco Podcastsâ Instagram, we got to see Kelly rehashing her funny (but somewhat traumatic) experience at her first Grammys. đŹ
Pam and Jeremy from Miss Indepodcast answer questions from their listeners this week, including their dream guests for the podcast and why Kelly concerts play AC/DCâs âYou Shook Me All Night Longâ before she comes out.
Topher Warren shares his reaction to Kelly Clarksonâs live performance of âI Hate Loveâ from the Birthday at the Belasco concert. âShe sounds so damn good.â
